When you access the Verbosity Dialog with INS-V (by default), the Word options will be selected automatically.
Miscellaneous Verbosity
| • | Indicate AutoCorrect (Default: Enabled) - With this setting enabled, Window-Eyes will indicate when a word has been auto-corrected by Microsoft Word. For example, "smart tag undo auto action." Once the cursor is on the auto-corrected word, auto correct options can be accessed through ALT-SHIFT-F10. |
| • | Indicate Borders and Shading (Default: Disabled) – With this setting enabled, Window-Eyes will indicate when the cursor enters or leaves an area that has been styled with either a border or shading. To retrieve specific information about the type of border or shading being used for the current element, use the element properties dialog (INS-E by default). The Element Properties dialog is detailed in Section 20.12. |
| • | Indicate Smart Tags (Default: Enabled) – With this setting enabled, Window-Eyes will indicate when a word contains a Smart Tag. Smart Tags are words or objects that have been labeled as a specific type, such as a person's name, or an email address. Once Window-Eyes indicates the Smart Tag by announcing, "Smart Tag Smart Tag Actions", you can route the mouse to the cursor with INS-NUMPAD-PLUS, and then press ALT-SHIFT-F10 to access Smart Tag options. |
| • | Indicate Styles (Default: Enabled) – With this setting enabled, Window-Eyes will automatically speak the style of the current element when moving from one style to the next. When using the ALT-SHIFT-LEFT/RIGHT ARROW keys to manipulate styles, Window-Eyes will speak the selected style automatically. |
| • | Automatically Dock Toolbars (Default: Enabled) – In order to ensure that text is not hidden by any of Word's floating toolbars, Window-Eyes provides the option to automatically move the floating toolbars from the document area to the toolbar area (this method is called docking). With this option enabled, Window-Eyes will automatically dock floating toolbars. This setting should be left enabled unless a floating toolbar is truly desired. |
Read To End Options
Several categories in the Office Verbosity Settings dialog have a Read To End option, which specifies whether or not the indication of that particular element class will be announced when the user performs a Read To End command to read the entire document. The options associated with the read to end check box must also be enabled for this feature to work.
